Broken Earth Winery » Profile

Broken Earth Winery is a customer-focused team proudly representing Paso Robles. We are committed to sustainable ideals and to continuing to bolster the high-quality reputation of Paso Robles wines. Our unique, estate grown & harvested wines reflect winemaker Chris Cameron’s committed & passionate approach to all aspects of winemaking. Structure & balance are most critical, each varietal is an accurate reflection of the style & the region.

Rancho Tierra Rejada, Spanish for “land of worked earth” is the original name of the 2,500 acre ranch that is home to vineyards that produce Broken Earth Wines. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, grain and cattle were the primary commodities here. It was a land of pioneer families, vaqueros, banditos, and cattle barons. Paso Robles defined the real and true west. That pioneer spirit lives on today at Broken Earth Winery.

Rancho Tierra Rejada was established in 1973 as one of the first large-scale producers in the area. It is currently planted to 522 acres of premium winegrapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and other popular varieties. The Vineyard is a model for growing first-quality Paso Robles winegrapes in an eco-friendly manner and has remained innovative and adaptable to sustainable farming techniques and practices over these 30+ years. Working hand-in-glove with the winemaker, the Vineyard team tailors farming techniques to suit each wine style. In 2012 Broken Earth Winery became a Certified California Sustainable Vineyard.

The Broken Earth Tasting room is located on Highway 46 East, five miles from Hwy 101, and is a great to place to browse for unique gifts and food. Don’t forget to ask about getting your own personalized wine label. Broken Earth’s design team will create a wine label tailored to fit your vision. A great gift for any special person, occasion or celebration.

We have now opened Café at Broken Earth Winery. Our menu offers handmade panini and fresh salads along with gourmet coffee and teas. We also feature an assortment of unique specialty food products and gifts. We invite you to sit and enjoy a pleasant lunch while relaxing in a comfortable atmosphere.
