PASO ROBLES WINE COUNTRY GIFTS MORE THAN $110,000 TO LOCAL COMMUNITY
Community Grant Program Awards Donations to Nine San Luis Obispo County Charities
Paso Robles, CA (December 21, 2012) The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance is proud to announce its 2012 Community Grant Program recipients. The wine community came together in 2012 to raise funds for local charities through the Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival Auction, RESERVE Futures Auction and the Paso Robles Wine Country Auction. Alliance winery, grower, hospitality and associate members donated a range of lifestyle and wine country auction lots to make this program possible. Nine worthy San Luis Obispo County organizations were chosen as grant recipients, totaling more than $57,000. In addition to the Community Grant Program, the Alliance supported many more San Luis Obispo County groups through in-kind and monetary donations with a value of more than $53,000.
“The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance is thrilled to give back to these organizations that provide valuable services to the community,” said Jennifer Porter, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. “In 2013, the Alliance will continue the Community Grant Program with some exciting new changes in how we raise funds.”
The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance began its commitment to support the local community in 2006 with the Zinfandel Festival Auction. Over the past seven years, the organization and its members have contributed over $300,000 in monetary donations to more than 25 charities. A new online auction of Paso Robles Wine Country items and experiences will take the place of the live auctions in 2013, along with the successful RESERVE Futures Auction in May.
Paso Robles Wine Country will apportion over $57,000 in monetary donations to the following organizations: Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County, Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County, Junior Livestock Auction, Must! Charities, Paderewski Festival, Partnership for the Children of San Luis Obispo County / La Clinica de Tolosa, Paso Robles Library Foundation and The Cancer Support Community of the California Central Coast and the Wine Alliance Scholarship Fund.
In-kind and monetary donations gifted throughout 2012, totaling more than $53,000 in value, supported the following organizations: Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County, Crush & Roll West, Paso Robles Festival of the Arts, Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest, Garagiste Festival, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Heritage Oaks Bank Fun Run, Mac & Cheese Festival, Paso Robles Rotary Club, Paso Robles Youth Baseball Pony Palooza, SLO GranFondo and Wine Waves and Beyond.
