SHALE OAK WINERY SET TO POUR INAUGURAL RELEASES AT
PASO ROBLES WINE FESTIVAL
First Sneak Peek of Guest Center at Shale Oak

May 6, 2011 – PASO ROBLES, CA – The inaugural release of Shale Oak wines will be made available for the first time at the Paso Robles Wine Festival, May 20-22. The public is invited to the winery on both Friday and Sunday, for complimentary wine tasting, appetizers, barrel sampling, live music by Jeff McCasland, and a preview of the Guest Center at Shale Oak. Additionally, Shale Oak wines will be poured at both the Friday Reserve Tasting and the Grand Tasting on Saturday.

One of the newest wineries on the west side, Shale Oak maintains a keen eye on sustainability in every facet of their business. They grow and make best-quality wines and blends from varietals that naturally grow best in Paso Robles. Production is quite limited, and every bottle will be sold exclusively at their Guest Center.

The Guest Center at Shale Oak is currently under construction, opening in the fall of this year. “The feel will be warm and casual, but with an educational element,” said Director of Operations, Mindy Hamers. “We will offer a whole range of experiences – you can taste, tour, picnic, learn about sustainability, or simply kick back, open up your laptop, and enjoy the free WiFi.” The building itself will be open and airy, designed to take advantage of the day’s natural light. A courtyard, walking paths, and a covered outdoor patio will highlight the beautiful surroundings and indigenous landscape.

Shale Oak Winery is located at 3235 Oakdale Road, just off Highway 46 West, phone is 805.239.4800, and a website is being constructed at www.shaleoakwinery.com. Events on both Friday May 20 and Sunday May 22 will run from 10am to 4pm. They are fully complimentary, and no reservations are required. Tickets to the Reserve and Grand Tastings are available for purchase at www.pasowine.com.
