VINA ROBLES TO RELEASE LIMITED-EDITION ARTISTS LABEL WINE

VINA ROBLES TO RELEASE LIMITED-EDITION ARTIST’S LABEL WINE
Vina Robles Winery today announced the upcoming release of its latest Artist’s Circle wine, a special limited-edition cuvée, whose label features an original commissioned work from local artist John T. Jones.

The Artist’s Circle series reflects Vina Robles’ longtime affinity for the arts, which culminated in the opening of a 1,800-square-foot gallery at the winery’s hospitality center in Paso Robles earlier this year.

The new release is the second Artist’s Circle wine to be bottled by Vina Robles, following the inaugural Artist’s Circle offering that was released in 2008. “Art and wine are a classic pairing that we embrace at Vina Robles,” said President Hans-R. Michel. “Periodically, we are inspired to honor both by crafting a cellar-worthy wine that is, in essence, its own work of art.”

Jones has lived and worked in San Luis Obispo County for 30 years. He works in oil painting, wood block printing, and wood and bronze sculpture. He says that these media “unite an effort to encapsulate the adversity and beauty of our times.” The print that Jones created for the Artist’s Circle wine features an abstract rendering of Vina Robles’ signature oak tree icon. “It depicts the tree casting a shadow, showing the unique lighting of the Central Coast,” Jones said. “In our area, it is easy to take an oak tree for granted, but one tree represents
many—those that came before it, and those that will be born from its acorns.”

The new Artist’s Circle release is a 2007 vintage red blend composed of Petit Verdot (88%) from Vina Robles’ estate Huerhuero Vineyard and Cabernet Sauvignon (12%) from Adelaida Springs Ranch. The individual lots were aged in 100-percent new French oak barrels prior to blending. According to Winemaker Matthias Gubler, the wine will age gracefully for at least the next 8 - 10 years.

Only 192 magnums were produced. The price is $75 per magnum, $64 for Signature Wine Club members, wooden magnum boxes available. The wine esd officially released at the Vina Robles hospitality center on November 27. See VinaRobles.com for more information.

We craft wines that represent a stylistic bridge between the Old and New worlds, capturing the finesse associated with European wines while celebrating the bold natural flavors of our estate vineyards in Paso Robles. Here, proprietor Hans Nef and winemaker Matthias Gubler bring their Swiss heritage to California’s Central Coast, where they aim to unite the best of both experiences. Our wines are available across the United States and overseas, and can be enjoyed at our hospitality center in the heart of the Paso Robles wine country.
