PASO ROBLES WINE COUNTRY DOUBLES ITS CONTRIBUTION TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND GIFTS MORE THAN $90,000
Community Organizations Honored at Tonight's Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Membership Meeting

Paso Robles, CA (December 14, 2010) Support of the local community is a way of life in Paso Robles Wine Country and the wine industry came together during the new Wine Festival Wine Country Auction & Dinner in May to strengthen its community support like never before. The event hosted 269 wine enthusiasts at a seated dinner in the Paso Robles City Park to enjoy an evening of wine, food and community spirit. The auction, with the support of winery and hospitality partners who donated rare and unique auction items, was a resounding success. Increased proceeds allowed the wine industry to more than double its dedication to the community, compared to years past, by gifting $68,000 in cash donations to 13 North County Area charities who support the industry's gifting platform. The industry supports charities who serve healthcare, education and greater community service causes. These funds will be ceremoniously delivered to the charitable organizations this evening at the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance's winter General Membership meeting held at Meridian Vineyards.

"The Paso Robles Wine community is thrilled to make the largest donation to date to a population which makes so much of what we do possible," said Stacie Jacob, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. "The Alliance has been able to contribute over $200,000 to local organizations over the last four years."

The Wine Country Auction enriches Zinfandel Festival and Wine Festival by providing a charitable platform to exciting marquee events in wine country. Festival goers are encouraged to bid on wine and lifestyle items that are not available through commercial or retail outlets.
