Innovative Reality Series Filmed in Paso Robles Wine Country

Paso Robles, CA (November 16, 2009) Paso Robles Wine Country announced today that television show, The Winemakers is now airing on PBS affiliates nationwide. This innovative reality series, set to the backdrop of Paso Robles Wine Country, tests the skills and passion of twelve men and women vying for a chance to create and launch their own wine label. In this inaugural season, contestants face the rigors of winemaking from viticulture and enology to sales and marketing but only one will win the title of “Winemaker.” Season I of The Winemakers was filmed among the vines and in the cellars of Paso Robles Wine Country and is the only series providing an inside look to the hard work and dedication that goes into winemaking.

“We were thrilled to sponsor the first season of The Winemakers and look forward to learning who comes out a winner,” said Stacie Jacob, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. “This series gives wine enthusiasts across the nation an authentic look at the winemaking process, as well as a taste of what Paso Robles Wine Country is all about.”

This 30 minute show features six episodes that focus on challenges created by winemakers, sommeliers, restaurateurs and industry leaders and showcases vigorous assignments from punch downs to sales calls and everything in between. The series began hitting the airways on PBS stations in September, and is now airing in many of the top 100 Nielsen rated stations across the country, including in-state within Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco.
