Paso Robles, CA (March 6, 2009) Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival, March 20 - 22, 2009, expands to a larger venue for the three event series --RESERVE, Wine Country Auction and Grand Tasting -- featuring the bold berry Zinfandel. New to the 17th Annual Festival is the Friday RESERVE event where guests may meet with winemakers, sip barrel samples and reserve tier wines while previewing unique items only available at Saturday's Wine Country Auction. The best of Paso Robles is up for bid during the Wine Country Auction, and is sure to keep paddles raised throughout the evening.

The Wine Country Auction March 21, from 4:30 - 7 p.m., features more than 40 live and super silent auction items. One-of-a-kind auction blocks from wineries across the Paso Robles Appellation include wine tasting retreats, dinners with Paso Robles producers, VIP tours, seminars and special large format bottles signed by the winemakers themselves. "Zinfandel Festival is a collaboration of spirit and camaraderie among the Paso Robles Wine Region," said Stacie Jacob, executive director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. "Wineries, vineyards, bed & breakfasts, hotels and restaurants come together to create outstanding lifestyle packages distinctive to the Zinfandel Festival Wine Country Auction."

Also exclusive to the Wine Country Auction is a tasting of the 2009 collaborative Zinfandel blend. Alex Villicana, 2009 blend master and winemaker at Villicana Winery, will be on hand presenting his 2007 vintage. This special blend is a collaboration of Paso Robles winemakers, refined by Alex Villicana. This rare blend is only available on the auction block at the Saturday Wine Country Auction.
