World-Class Paso Robles Winemakers To Showcase 150 of the Region’s Wines

(Houston) March 19, 2008 – Wine connoisseurs and budding wine enthusiasts alike are invited to join more than 40 wine producers from Paso Robles, one of the nation’s most diverse, up and coming wine growing regions, for an evening of wine tasting, appreciation and education. Additionally, Vic & Anthony’s Steak House will provide delicious appetizers.

"We’re thrilled to make the only Texas stop of our Grand Tasting Tour in Houston," said Stacie Jacob, Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance executive director. "We invite wine enthusiasts of all levels to join us and discover for themselves what makes Paso Robles distinct and different."

Paso Robles is California’s third largest wine region, and 2008 marks the fifth year of the Grand Tasting Tour. Houston was chosen as one of only four annual tour stops. Four new cities are chosen each year.

"Our region has experienced explosive growth over the past 10 years, making Paso Robles California’s fastest wine growing region," added Jacob. "The Grand Tasting Tour is an opportunity for Houston wine enthusiasts to discover the quality and variety found in our diverse portfolio of wineries."

Admission for the two-hour tasting is $40 in advance and $50 at the door. The event is April 10 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Vic & Anthony’s Steak House. Partial event proceeds will benefit Trees For Houston. Tickets are available for purchase online at or by calling 800-549-WINE.
