SCOTT AARON REDS WIN GOLD AT NEW WORLD INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION
Scott Aaron wines won a Gold Best of Class medal for their proprietary Nobility blend and a Gold medal for flagship Integrity blend at the 2007 Jerry Mead New World International Wine Competition.
Over 200 wineries participated in this year’s event and over 2,000 wines were sampled. The 2004 Scott Aaron Nobility won the Gold Best of Class medal for the Best Proprietary Red Category and the 2004 Scott Aaron Integrity won a Gold Medal for the Meritage Red category. The 2005 Viognier was also the only Viognier to medal from the Paso Robles wine region and the Central Coast.
"We couldn’t be more pleased with the results from this competition. Scott Aaron wines are made in such small quantities that we really pick and choose which competitions we enter and Jerry Mead NWIWC has always been so well respected within the industry so it is an honor to medal at this event" says Scott Tobin, owner and winemaker. In 2005 his 2003 Integrity won the Gold Best of Class medal for Cabernet Franc at the same competition.
The Scott Aaron brand is new to Paso Robles but Scott has been a part of his family’s winery for over 20 years. "I learned long ago what quality versus quantity really means. I used to go to seminars and listen to growers talk about maximizing their yields and getting the most they possibly could from their grape vines and I always felt they were missing the point." Scott Aaron wines are crafted with just three to four barrels of each wine and sold exclusively through the tasting room, wine club, and web site. "We make them to our tastes, not what sells best in the grocery store."
Scott recently opened his own tasting room in downtown Templeton inside Herrmann’s Chocolate Lab. The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday from 11-6. Visit them on the web at www.scottaaron.com or call 888-611-9463.
