PESENTI WINERY BECOMES TURLEY WINE CELLARS
Turley Wine Cellars is proud to announce the grand opening of their Templeton winery & vineyard in M
Templeton, February 12, 2002: Turley Wine Cellars purchased Pesenti Winery in May 2000 primarily for the 70-year-old Zinfandel vines on the property which they knew would complement their wine program. What they didn’t expect is how well they would be received by the Central Coast locals. Larry Turley said he has been overwhelmed by the friendly nature of the people here as well as the quality of wine being produced from grapes grown in the Paso Robles appellation. In March, the Pesenti signs will come down and the Turley signs will go up but the Pesenti Vineyard Zinfandel will continue to stand on its own under the Turley label.
Inaugural Vintage to be pre-released in March
Although it will not be officially released until the Fall of 2002, wine tasters will be able to sample and purchase Turley’s 2000 Vintage "Pesenti Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel in the tasting room on the weekend of March 15-17, 2002 in honor of the Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival. Turley will be participating in the Grand Tasting and Live & Silent Auction to be held at the Paso Robles Inn on the 16th and Villa Creek Restaurant will host a Turley Winemaker Dinner on the 15th.
Other upcoming events at the winery include a Templeton Chamber Mixer from 5:30-7:30 pm on March 7th which will be co-hosted by McPhee’s Grill and Jazz guitarist Travis Wittmeyer. For more information call (805) 434-1030.
