MEDIA ADVISORY: PASO ROBLES ZINFANDEL FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK

We invite our media partners to join us at the following Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival activities happening this week in Paso Robles Wine Country. The annual Zinfandel Festival includes four days of activities throughout the region and draws more than 1000 visitors to the area. Thursday, March 16, 5 to 7 p.m. – Artist’s Reception at Vinoteca Wine Bar
Meet Nona Haydon, creator of "Grape Life," the official Zinfandel Festival artwork for 2006. View "Grape Life" and a selection of other works by the artist from 5 to 7 p.m. Though "Grape Life" will be auctioned during the Zinfandel Festival Live Auction on Saturday, Haydon’s other works will be available for purchase during this reception.

Saturday, March 18, 5 to 7 p.m. – Zinfandel Festival Live Auction
This live auction will feature extraordinary wine country lifestyle and wine packages provided by the winemakers and wine grape growers of Paso Robles Wine Country. The live auction is also the only place to taste and bid on a piece of history: the 2006 collaborative Zinfandel blend. Proceeds will be used to bring Mee Memorial’s Mobile Health Unit (on display) to Paso Robles for a series of Mobile Health Days for vineyard workers and their families in April 2006. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

Saturday, March 18, 7 to 10 p.m. – Zinfandel Festival Grand Tasting
Nearly 700 tickets have already been sold to this Zinfandel Tasting. More than 40 area wineries will pour their best Zinfandels, to be accompanied by Zin-friendly food and music, as well as a silent auction benefiting Mobile Health Days and the Paso Robles Library Foundation. The Mee Memorial Mobile Health Unit will be on display.

Friday through Sunday, March 17-19, all day – Zinfandel Festival Winery Events
More than 80 wineries will be hosting activities throughout Paso Robles Wine Country in conjunction with the Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival. Weekend activities include a host of winemaker dinners, exclusive barrel sampling opportunities, seminars, barbeques, live music, art shows, winery tours and more.
