Event at Hotel ZaZa targets trade, media and consumers; also features live casting call

The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance will host its 2006 Grand Tasting Tour in Dallas on Monday, March 6. Thirty-three wineries will showcase wines from the Paso Robles American Viticulture Area (AVA) at Hotel ZaZa located in the trendy Dallas Uptown neighborhood.

Events are scheduled throughout the day for wine trade, media and consumers to taste the distinct differences of wines from Paso Robles, located along California’s Central Coast. Executive Chef, Marc Cassel of Hotel ZaZa’s Dragonfly Restaurant and Lounge will prepare foods to accompany the tasting. Event proceeds benefit The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association (GDRA) Scholarship Fund for Hospitality/Culinary Arts Education.

Hear from a panel of Paso Robles winemakers and learn how the region is well suited for producing premium wines with a guided tasting. Taste wines produced from the region’s diverse soils combined with warm days and cool nights, which make the Paso Robles AVA optimal for growing more than 40 wine varieties.

Walk-Around Tasting – 2-5 p.m.
Join us to meet the producers of 33 wineries featuring more than 150 wines from the growing Paso Robles AVA to taste what makes the region’s wines distinct and different. Wineries are looking to find distributors and educate key accounts to grow market share in Dallas for Paso Robles wines.

Walk-Around Wine and Food Tasting - 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
This is your chance to experience Paso Robles Wine Country in Dallas and support The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association. New Winemaker Reality TV Show Casting Call – 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
As you enjoy the wine tasting you may also view the casting call of a new winemaker reality TV series for PBS — The Wine Makers — to be filmed in Paso Robles Wine Country during fall 2006. The producers will be on site auditioning potential candidates who are interested in becoming a cast member on this new reality TV show.
