EBERLE WINERY DONATES $23,500 TO HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF
PASO ROBLES, CA—A recent fundraiser at Eberle Winery raised $23,500 for victims of Hurricane Katrina. As part of a region-wide campaign, in conjunction with the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, owner Gary Eberle donated an entire day’s sales in the Tasting Room to the cause. "Our goal was $15,000," he says. "We reached that goal by noon!"
The devastation in New Orleans, in particular, hit home with Eberle. He attended Louisiana State University and has several friends in the hospitality industry who live in the city. "I’ve talked with a lot of them, and they are surprisingly upbeat," Eberle says. "They are displaced right now, but they’re ready to get to work and rebuild their businesses."
Funds raised at Eberle Winery will go directly to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina who are in the hospitality industry. "I know they need so much more," Eberle says. "But I’m glad I’m in a position to help them get through this terrible time."
