PASO ROBLES, CA April 26, 2005 — The Paso Robles Vintners and Growers Association is announcing today that 17 area restaurants, wine shops and grocers will be featuring Paso Robles wines during the month of May in celebration of Paso Robles Wine Month. On May 2, 2005 Paris Restaurant, in downtown Paso Robles, will be host to a prestigious announcement luncheon where Paso Robles Mayor Frank Mecham – with key representatives of the Paso Robles Vintners and Growers Association, the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce, the Paso Robles Visitor and Conference Bureau as well as other community leaders of note in attendance – will officially proclaim the month of May 2005 as Paso Robles Wine Month.

A Celebration of Paso Robles Wine Country Recognized by wine aficionados and travel advisors worldwide, Paso Robles Wine Country is a California Central Coast wine-producing center and travel destination that offers a unique combination of world-class wines in spectacular natural surroundings.

"With both the 23rd Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival and the 13th Annual Hospice du Rhône drawing more than 25,000 anticipated visitors to the area, it is only fitting that we celebrate Paso Robles Wine Month – showcasing the many fine wines of the region during the entire month of May, 2005," said Mayor Mecham.

Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14 — Hospice du Rhône Now in its thirteenth year, Hospice du Rhône brings together the world’s leading Rhône producers to make it the largest celebration of Rhône wines in the world. The event is a combination of education, fun and fellowship, bringing together attendees from around the world to Paso Robles Wine Country.

Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22 — The Paso Robles Wine Festival This year’s Paso Robles Wine Festival is dedicated to the memory of Tom Martin, who passed away in early April of this year. A respected community and wine industry leader, Martin was considered by many to be a key visionary that helped chart the course of what Paso Robles is today. The Festival kicks-off on Friday, May 20 with its Annual Wine Festival Golf Tournament at Hunter Ranch Golf Course. Local wineries will feature a number of special events throughout the entire weekend. The big day that wine lovers from all over the world look forward to with great anticipation is Saturday, May 21 at Paso Robles City Park, downtown. It’s a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a well-rounded perspective of the wines of Paso Robles Wine Country, where more than 70 wineries come together at one central place to pour some of their finest creations.
