PASO ROBLES, CA February 7, 2005 — The Paso Robles Vintners and Growers Association (PRVGA) honored Deborah and Justin Baldwin, co-proprietor’s of JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, as the 2004 Wine Industry Persons of the Year during the organization’s thirteenth annual Vintners and Growers Ball held Friday night (Feb. 4) at the Park Ballroom in downtown Paso Robles. The couple’s community leadership and vision for promoting Paso Robles Wine Country attributes to their outstanding industry service.

Paso Robles Mayor Frank Mecham honored the Baldwin’s on behalf of the City of Paso Robles. Paying tribute on behalf of the County of San Luis Obispo was Supervisor, Harry Ovitt who presented the couple with an official Resolution.

"Justin and Deborah have been instrumental in guiding the industry as we strengthen our marketing efforts nationally," said Neil Roberts, chairman of PRVGA and executive vice president of Viticulture Management, Inc. "Their passion for Paso Robles Wine Country and commitment to quality wine production are important as our industry grows."

The Baldwin’s are involved in many aspects of the organization’s promotional efforts. From hosting trade, media and consumers at their new ISOSCELES Center to participating in the PRVGA Wine Festival and Paso Robles Wine University, the Baldwin’s have helped lead the recognition of Paso Robles Wine Country nationally and internationally. The couple was also influential in developing the 2005 Grand Tasting Tour, a four-city national marketing tour promoting Paso Robles Wine Country, which kicks off on March 9 in New Orleans.

In addition to their commitment to the wine industry the Baldwin’s give back to many worthy causes locally, regionally and nationally. After both overcoming personal challenges last year, the Baldwin’s hosted the first annual JUSTIN "Harvest for Hope and Harmony Gala," to support the American Cancer Society.

In addition to the Baldwin’s announcement, the evening program recognized PRVGA outgoing board members. Each was presented with a plaque thanking them for their leadership over the past two years.

The Baldwin’s began their family-owned wine business with the purchase if 160 acres of land in the Adelaide Valley located 15 miles west of Paso Robles in 1981. A shared dream of producing fine wine and living a quality lifestyle was the inspiration for JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery. Currently 72 acres are planted to vines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and limited acreage of Burgundian style Chardonnay. Additionally, Syrah, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Orange Muscat add to the estate vineyard program. The winery was completed in 1987, which marked their first crush using 100% estate JUSTIN wines. The winery produces approximately 45,000 cases making Justin wines available in 48 states and 13 countries. Completing the wine country experience, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery opened their tasting room in 1989 and in 1991 opened a three-room country inn call the JUST-Inn. Guests can also experience the combination of great food and JUSTIN wines at Deborah’s Room located in the hospitality center.

At the forefront of the Baldwin’s philosophy is a desire for their wines to be entirely estate grown, produced and bottled and to remain a family business with a reputation for being the leading boutique producer of premium wines in Paso Robles and on the Central Coast. Justin and Deborah live on the vineyard along with their children Evan and Morgane and their dogs Sunny and Zamboni.
