PASO ROBLES’ JANKRIS WINERY CRAFTS WINNING VINTAGES
2004 Awards confirm consumer desire for ‘fruit-forward’ wines
The first quarter of 2004 has been very good to JanKris Winery. This family-owned winery has taken home over 33 medals at wine competitions across the country in just the first three months of the year. Included in this list are four silver medals from the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and one bronze.
"We’ve seen tremendous momentum through numerous distribution agreements nationwide," states Mark Gendron, owner, and winemaker, of JanKris Wines. "The feedback we are getting—in sales and through these awards—is that there is a definite market for hand-crafted, estate-grown, ‘fruit-forward’ wines."
Other competitions in which JanKris competed and won include: the New World International Wine Competition, the Hilton Head, South Carolina Wine Competition, the Grand Harvest Competition in Santa Rosa, and the Florida State Fair where JanKris’ 2002 Syrah brought home the gold!
